Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your HandeChat account at any time. This page explains how, and exactly what happens when you do — see our Privacy Policy for the full detail on how we handle your data.

Delete your account in the app

1. Open HandeChat and go to Settings.
2. Tap Account, then Delete account.
3. Confirm your PIN when prompted.

Deletion takes effect immediately. It cannot be undone, and there is no grace period — make sure you want to proceed before confirming.

Can't access the app?

If you no longer have access to the HandeChat app or your account, email us at the address below from the phone number or email associated with your account (or include enough information for us to verify it's you) and ask us to delete your account. We will process your request as soon as we can confirm your identity.

What gets deleted or changed

• Your phone number, username, display name, bio, and profile photo are removed or replaced, and the account can no longer sign in.
• Your authored stories and profile photo are removed from storage.
• Your end-to-end encrypted chat devices are disabled.
• Every device you were signed in on is signed out.

What is not deleted

Messages you already sent remain visible to the other participants of those conversations, attributed to "Deleted User" — deleting your account does not delete a conversation from someone else's history. Records we are required to keep for legal, security, or accounting reasons (such as moderation records tied to a prior report) are also retained.
